I've just finished a playthrough of The Nameless Mod and man it rocks!!. Anyone who is a Deus Ex fan ought to play this. It's a total conversion mod of the original Deus Ex and the modders have done a really good job to incorporate all the elements of gameplay that made the original so much fun to play. You can download the game and read more about it here.

My experience of DX has been somewhat twisted. I played IW first, then joined Planet Deus Ex online, and only then played DX I. I find the games utterly engrossing, and it always puzzles me why my friends don't. Only my sister shares my 'obsession'. Anyhoo, I can't wait for DX III to come out. It was slightly disappointing to learn that it's set before all the other stuff happened. I suppose that's because there were just too many deviant storylines to make any sense of. And what's this about it being based around a security guard? D:<

Deus Ex to be released in Russia officially [Jan. 25th, 2008|12:11 am]

This post is intended for Russians, and if you didn't understand the text above here's a little clarification: Eidos hasn't released Deus Ex and Invisible War officially in Russia, and the majority of fans has played either pirated or downloaded versions. The translation was also made by the community. Now the company "Noviy Disc" is willing to acquire the license from Eidos and release them officially. But they need to decide how to release them — collector's edition or something simpler, localized or not, etc.

Hey everyone, I'm not sure how regularly checked this community is (it seems somewhat abandoned) but I thought I'd post here anyway.
I have finished shooting and am currently in the process of editing a short film based on Deus Ex called Deus Ex Fanima (or DXF for short). It is a dramatisation based around the first mission (where JC goes into the Statue to rescue Hermann and find the NSF leader), with most of the dialogue and some action taken straight from the game. Obviously it's not exact - I can't actually film in the Statue of Liberty, let alone blow its head off :D. It will be available for download on my site www.deusexfanima.com in a few months, and probably on youtube and googlevideo. The site is pretty undeveloped, especially design-wise, atm and all that's there now is a Director's blog and photos of some of the shoots.
This is the first Deus Ex related fanfilm (or film of any kind) as far as I know, so I'm looking forward to finishing it and seeing what people think!

Trying to get the poor thing out by shooting at it eventually ate up my ammo and I managed to save only one of its arms. Walking on top of it isn't a bright idea either in a way... unless you want to see the wild leg movements. I'm a right DUMBARSE for not saving right there. ;_;
